Two of the most notable bands in punk music have been taking the world y storm on their world tour, rightfully titled “The World Tour.” Presented by Rockstar Energy Drink, Sleeping with Sirens and Pierce the Veil are putting on some of the best live shows any music lover would enjoy attending. Opening acts Pvris (pronounced like the city, Paris) and Mallory Knox (it is a band of British men, not a solo artist) came along to supply their sound.
After the openers came and went, it was time for the main acts. First up on this night was Sleeping with Sirens, co-headliner, though arguably the more popular of the two thanks to hits like “If I’m James Dean, You’re Audrey Hepburn” “Alone,” featuring rapper MGK, and “Roger Rabbit.” Their set had contributions from all of their albums, including their yet to be released “Madness” which is set to come out on March 17th. About half way through the set, lead singer Kellin Quinn slowed everything down to do a pair of acoustic songs with his guitarists, Nick Martin and Jack Fowler. “Roger Rabbit” and a fantastic cover of the Goo Goo Doll’s “Iris” were performed with Kellin’s voice, a voice that can hit every pitch imaginable.
After Sleeping With Sirens closed with “If You Can’t Hang” it was Pierce the Veil’s turn to grace the stage. Opening with “Hell Above” and closing with an encore of “King for a Day,” with Kellin Quinn, Pierce the Veil does not make the better recorded music out of the two main acts, but they put on one of the best live shows in music today. Every song is played cleanly and are very energetic and having the time of their life on stage. If you like the music or not there is no doubt you will love the atmosphere and party of their show. Confetti and unique lighting are a necessity.
Pierce the Veil always puts on an Alternative Press Award winning live show, and Sleeping with Sirens has some of the best rock music of the past few years. Always fun seeing two great live acts and the world has been loving the world tour so far. Looking forward to Sleeping with Sirens new album and more great live shows from Pierce the Veil.
