“…whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.”
These are the words written in our Declaration of Independence by Thomas Jefferson, one our founding fathers of this country. He believed that when a government, group, or individual threaten the safety of this country’s citizens, it is the responsibility of the us the people, to stop such acts from happening. This country would not have been able to declare independence and earn it without the second amendment in our Bill of Rights.
Now we live in a time where we may not be at war, but in a time where specific governs and people want to limit these rights that uphold our responsibilities. Concealed handguns are used not only to protect individuals but also a group of people. If you were a criminal that wanted to inflict harm upon others would you walk into a room where it is a gun free zone, or into the room that has at least one citizen that has concealed carried weapon on them?
Yes, there are ones that do obtain these weapons to inflict harm, but there is a much greater amount of people that ensure our safety.
