The past two years have had their share of parades in the high school, celebrating WPIAL births for varsity football and track. Today, on a chilly March afternoon, the school celebrated an undefeated season for both boys and girls teams by having the band and Avonettes parade through the halls around 2 PM.
For the second straight year, multiple swim team members are set to compete in the majority of WPIAL races on Thursday, March 3 and Friday, March 4th on Pitt’s campus.
“It was a really fun season, ” said Junior Anastasia Wagner, set to swim in four events at WPIAL’s. “This is the closest the team has been to each other – everyone is friends with each other and our camaraderie made the team much more fun as a whole. It was really awesome to have talented swimmers. Fun to be around – to know individuals have the chance to go to states is good. We weren’t just celebrating our own success. We were celebrating everyone else’s, too.”
