For the second year in a row, Bethany Adamiak auditioned and was accepted into Regionals for chorus with PMEA, the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association. She auditioned during her time practicing for District Chorus on Wednesday of last week. This performance includes the best of the best student singers from District 1 Pennsylvania, which is our district, and District 5, which is made up of the counties north and west of us. This is one of the highest honors that you can receive as a high school chorister, and the Avonworth students and staff are certainly proud of her accomplishment.
Bethany mentioned that,”This really is an honor because it is something I really enjoy, so it’s great to participate at a higher level.” She says that to practice she has been listening to CD’s of the music that Mr. Vrana recorded for her so she can memorize her musicĀ at home, as well as at school.
Regionals will be held this February 22, 23, and 24 and will be a fun time for all those who participate, including our own Bethany Adamiack.
I really enjoyed reading this article because I’m a music/art nerd. I am so glad to see her accomplishment being recognized to the school in this way. I know she participated in PMEA before, and I think it might be interesting to track her journey, since she is (after all) a senior. This was a very well written simple and sweet article.
