In October, the team made it to the WPIALS AA team playoffs and finished 5th out of ten teams at Duck Hollow Golf Course. They were one of the three teams to move to the WPIAL finals.
Avonworth placed 10th with 77 points at Boys AA State Golf Championship. Congratulations to Kai Carlson for becoming one of just three freshmen boys to make it to the Heritage Hills Resort where he played a fantastic round!
Ms. Patten, Avonworth’s Athletic Director, says that this season had “historic turn out numbers,” and “the team played extremely well.” While restrictions put in place to protect everyone’s safety have made things difficult for some sports teams, Ms. Patt0n and golf team member Brayden Simmons agree that the golf team is fortunate enough to be playing a sport that pairs well with safety measures. The team had a great, safe season. Congrats!
