After two years of extended shutdowns due to COVID 19, the Lopes Lounge has finally reopened for students following the start of the 2021 school year.
Running 3 times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the varieties of coffee, tea, and lemonades that students came to rely on for waking up before MOD B are once again back in the Fall. Mrs. White and the Lopes Lounge staff opened at different times in 2020-2021, but like the rest of the school, had to adjust to short closures and extended virtual schooling. The Lounge was also closed from March 2020 until the end of the school year in June 2020 as all public schools were closed due to COVID.
“I like it being back and since I have an open mod, I can go whenever I want. My favorite drink is the raspberry lemonade” said sophomore Hayzes Robinson.
Senior Abbi Holjes agreed. “It’s a nice place to be able to hang out with friends and I enjoy talking to the staff.”
“I love having it and supporting the special ed club. My favorite drink is the raspberry lemonade” Rebecca Goetz.
