Steelers fans watching the playoff loss against the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2022 NFL season reflected over the end of an era. For every student in Avonworth, Ben Roethlisberger has always been the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. This leaves the fanbase with worries about who can replace the role of the Super Bowl winning QB “Big Ben”. The person filling his rule? Mitch Trubisky, an offseason pick up for the Steelers. His inconsistent performance throughout his career has lead many fans to not feel so confident.
Starting the season, the Steelers matchup against the defending AFC conference champions, The Cincinnati Bengals, led by quarterback Joe Burrow and star receiver Jamar Chase. The Bengals are coming off of a heartbreaking loss against the LA Rams in Super Bowl 56 and are getting ready to make their return to the playoffs and maybe back to the Super Bowl.
“I think that Trubisky will be a good option until Pickett is better” said junior Jacob Hanny.
Mr. Wells also accepted Trubisky as the starter. ”I’m fine with MT starting because Kenny Pickett needs more experience.”
In a small Friday afternoon poll of fans, two picked the Steelers to win while three chose the Bengals to continue their recent winning streak against Pittsburgh.
