It’s been over a year. The war in between Russia and Ukraine is still going on. I interviewed the choir teacher, Ms. Martin, and this is what she had to say when I asked “What do you think about the war in Ukraine”
“I think it is devastating. There are so many highly populated towns that were destroyed including one that I taught in. I have many friends in Ukraine and they have shared horrifying pictures and it is devastating to see. People have been forced out of their homes and had to find new homes. War is terrible and I feel terrible for Ukraine as it has never fully recovered from WW2, where a lot of it was fought. Ukraine is not a rich country. The former president was in cahoots with Putin, but he was driven out of office because of this. I think Putin is very greedy and he wants more of Ukraine. Personally, I think Putin will have to be gone before this war ends as he is very power-hungry. He is lying to the country of Russia. He is censoring all of what is happening in Ukraine so that Russians don’t feel bad. Russia isn’t gaining anything from this. My final thoughts are that i think this will be tough to get through. I am against the war and Zelinsky is a great example of what it means to be Ukrainian, they lead with their hearts because they love their nation.”
I asked the same question to Junior Austin Gatti.
“I think that it’s pointless and that it could’ve been avoided. Everyone was living peacefully without the war so there was no reason to start it and there was no benefit for either side.”
