The 2023 March Madness winner is 4-seed UConn, and they dominated their path to being champions.
In the final 4 they played 5-seed Miami, who didn’t stand much of a chance. The final score was 72-59, a blowout. In the championship they played 5-seed San Diego St, who beat 9-seed Florida Atlantic University, a heart breaking loss.
As they went head to head, the game was not even close. It ended 76-59, a sad ending for San Diego St. The Huskies had many star players to get them to where they got, like Jordan Hawkins, Tristan Newton, and many more.
No one expected San Diego St to beat UConn, expect for sophomore Michael Tabano, as he said, “Yeah I was surprised that they lost, and it was just a shocking game”.
Many hearts are broken, but even more brackets are. Very few people could have guessed that UConn would win, with a quote from Atticus Kardell saying, “Its so so rigged”. However, with all of the loses, there is one winner. Avonworth’s very own Mr. Tuffiash had UConn winning, and is a winner in all of our hearts.
From Mr.Tuffiash, “J1 and J2 picked 25 brackets this year, because of the ESPN 25 brackets contest. I guess it’s still good one of those was a UConn win, but it doesn’t feel like an accomplishment. This was a wild year for brackets”.
