The 2023 MLB season kicked off a few weeks ago, and our Pittsburgh Pirates have been playing like champions so far, and we hope they keep it up. For the first time in quite a while, the Pirates are in first place in the NL Central, and hopefully, they will remain in first place for the rest of the season.
On April 25th, the Pirates played the Los Angeles Dodgers and hoped to bring their 7-game win streak to an 8-game win streak. Things were looking good, especially when McCutchen hit a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 4th inning.
But sadly, in the 8th inning, one of the Dodgers players hit a 3-run home run, bringing the score up to 8-7 with the Dodgers winning the game.
Although we lost this game, we are luckily still in first in the NL Central, and we are hopeful that we can stay in first and make the playoffs.
