In the second round of the playoffs, there may be no larger story than how the Lakers got there. A blockbuster first-round matchup followed by the Lakers and Grizzles had social media buzzing through the whole series. The Grizzles were the 2 seed and the Lakers were 7.
One of the main reasons why this was such a talked about series was because of the Dillon Brooks and Lebron James feud. Brooks who plays for the Grizzles is known for being a dirty player. After game two he had many words to say about the Lakers legend Lebron James. Saying that he “pokes bears” and doesn’t respect anyone unless they “come up and give me 40” Brooks said.
Later in that series, there was an altercation between Lebron and Brooks where LeBron takes a devastating shot to the no man’s land thrown by Brooks that many believe was intentional. Fast forward a couple of days later, the Lakers win the series 4-2 against the Grizzles, and many believe that this upset was due to the drama that was happening off the court. Fast forward a couple of days after that, multiple league sources report that the Grizzles have no intention of Bringing back Dillon Brooks back next season.
Johnny Smallwood: “Dillon Brooks is dirty and is getting the backlash he deserves.”
Luke Maddalena: “Dillon Brooks was trying to make a name for himself and get the media talking about it.”
