The Avonworth Lacrosse Club held their first meeting on Thursday, November 2nd
Many students at Avonworth have never played Lacrosse, and know very little about the sport, considering the school has never had a team. This could be a new and exciting time for students who have been wanting to play Lacrosse and have been advocating for a team here.
Lacrosse Club was originally started as an idea for a senior project.
Sophomore Alaina Kosarych says, “We originally started Lacrosse Club with me, Cahlen Kohler, Taylor Smallwood, and Laviny Lima during freshman seminar as an idea for a senior project or an activity that other kids could look forward to. We decided to start this to bring the opportunity to Avonworth because Lacrosse is slowly becoming a more popular sport. Mr Nolan has willingly decided to help us and sponsor us, as he was previously a Lacrosse coach.”
