Currently, the 3 of the 4 Pittsburgh sports teams that are currently playing are off to a hot start.
First off, the Pittsburgh Steelers currently are posting a 6-3 record and are 2nd in the AFC North. Many students were spotted wearing Steelers gear including freshman Ian Fashian.
Next, despite having high expectations for the 2023 season, the Pitt Panthers football team has a disappointing 3-8 record. Many fans and students have expressed their disappointment with the team but Freshman Noah Nusskern (pictured below) has held out hope and wishes for a better season next year.
This season, the Penn State Nittany Lions are currently 8-2. This ranks them 12th in the nation. They started off the season hot with an 8-0 start, but unfortunately have lost their past two games to Ohio State which is ranked 2nd in the nation and Michigan which is ranked 3rd in the nation. Penn State fans are hoping that they will get back on track to finish off the season strong.
Despite not having any students repping the Penguins in school, many of them still support them as their 2023-24 season campaign has kicked off. Coming off the Pens 40-31-11 record from last year, they have started their 2023/24 season off to an 8-7 record. After very slow starts in the first couple of games, the Penguins have picked up some slack and face the 9-7 Carolina Hurricanes tomorrow at 7 P.M. Pittsburgh legend Sydney Crosby leads his points at 20, while veteran Jake Guentzel trails closely behind with 19.
