One of the biggest trends regarding business in 2023 is dropshipping. Dropshipping is where an entrepreneur opens up an online shop, most frequently on a website called Shopify. They then acquire products from a producer and sell them to a customer for a higher price.
All of the students at Avonworth that we interviewed either knew about how dropshipping works or heard about it from social media or another classmate. Sophomore Peter Bonnet shared his thoughts stating “I think it is a positive trend because it teaches people about starting a business and the process of all of it.” Sophomore Sam Kline shared similar thoughts on the trend being positive because it “gives people who are striving to be entrepreneurs an introduction to business and can even earn them some money.” Fellow classmates Jack Dolan, Ethan Szakelyhidi, and Dylan Lope all found out about dropshipping from Sophomore Case Latore, who introduced many to his newfound passion.
Shopify is the most popular method used for selling products through the drop shipping strategy.
