In just one week, Omar Kahn as GM made his approach clear. It is not The Steelers Way as usual. J2 students interviewed during mod I to gather opinions on Kenny Pickett’s surprising trade after the team expressed support for his return in 2024.
Luke Maddalena, 11th grade “I’m happy with the move because Kenny never really fit the tradition of a Steelers quarterback.”

The Kenny Pickett issue is a hot topic among Steelers fans and casual viewers alike. Out of 9 Avonworth students, a third of them said that they liked the trade. Reese Theobald explains her take on it: “On one hand, Pickett is a really new quarterback, with roots in Pittsburgh already since he went to Pitt, and the Steelers drafted him. But on the other hand, he sucks.”
Jacob Seifarth, 12th grade: “I think it might have been a needed trade. He [Kenny Pickett] hasn’t been doing enough for the Steelers, and pretty much requested it. I can understand why they would pick someone else.”
