Journalism 2 students went out around the under-construction high school on Monday, May 6th to hear what was good, mediocre, and could have been better from the 2024 Prom, themed with the Roaring ’20’s. Most significant? A move from Promenade in the auditorium followed by dance in downtown Pittsburgh at the David L Lawrence Convention Center to an all-in-one venue, The Marriott in Cranberry, Butler County.
What was good:
“The airbrush (tattoo artist) was great.” – Senior Xanath Bernal
“The choice of food (buffet style, various pastas) was good.” Junior Luc Chrissis
“I think the food was good. I also think the end was good.” Senior Zion Schenk
“I liked the photo booth and the provided drink options and food was good…” Junior Eva Koebel
What was mediocre:
“The song choice could have been better. I think that the food was okay depending on the time you got to it.” – Senior Heidi Hamrick
“The music was good, but the order should’ve been different; they shouldn’t have starter with “Carnival”.” – Xanath
“It was ok but could have been better, I liked the airbrush tattoos but I wish the DJ played better songs.” Junior Alessia Padalino
“The photo booth, and tattoos were good. The food was as well good, but it was cold. The dance floor and songs were meh.”
Junior Nick Veleke
What could be better:
“(The DJ) didn’t even play dance music, it was just some stupid mumble rap. And I know when a DJ isn’t good when they play Ed Sheeran as the slow dance song. The people there were lame too. I couldn’t even enjoy myself because the people standing still on the dance floor were making fun of others for dancing. The grind circle was way too big this year, they barely even gave us any room to dance.” – Junior Lucy Jacobs
