The Paul Skenes hype was no lie. Paul Seenes through his first two games against the Cubs posted incredible statlines. In his major league debut, he allowed 3 runs in 4 innings pitched in front of a sold-out PNC park. This happened to be one of the best games of the year for the Pirates. The game time neared 5 hours due to the 3-hour rain delay. The Pirates pulled out the victory after 4 lead changes. The final score of Paul Skenes major league debut was 11-10. Although Skenes didn’t get the victory, it was a good start to a highly anticipated MLB career.

inance when he got his first MLB road start in Chicago. In this game, he posted 11 strikeouts in 6 innings pitched while allowing 1 walk and no hits. Although the Pirates lost the no-hitter for Paul Skenes, they still won the important NL Central matchup. This allowed Skeenes to capture national popularity for the 2nd week in a row.
