Midway through Mod B, Dr. Dwuilt announced that students should head outside and gather by the flagpole to send off the boys football team to the PIAA state championship on Friday, December 6th. The Lopes will compete in their fourth and final playoff game against 11-1 Northern Lehigh at Cumberland Valley High School on Saturday at 1 PM.
For the chilly 9 AM sendoff, Cheerleaders gathered up, the Antelope made an appearance, and middle and high school students tried to keep warm before Ohio Township Fire and police provided an escort.

This year’s team brought back a full lineup of upperclassmen as starters, a key component to the 2024 playoff run including a WPIAL championship on the third straight appearance in the title game.
Post Gazette reporter Colin Beazley stopped by the Journalism 1 class the afternoon before and detailed his experience working on covering Coach Johncour’s approach to guiding the team. Beazley highlighted how the team culture stood out to him as well as how unique and interesting Johncour’s approach is as a head coach in sports.
