Izzy Pecosh is a sophomore at Avonworth High School, and in this interview held on 1/21/25, I asked her some get-to-know-you questions. Here are some highlights from that interview:
Avonews: What is your favorite type of music to listen to?
Izzy Pecosh: I’d probably say pop, mostly because it puts me in a good mood. I like lots of music like rap and lyrical too but those can be depressing after a while so I’ll say my favorite is pop.
Avonews: Do you think different music goes with different seasons?
Izzy Pecosh: Yes, I think pop goes with summer, slower lyrical music goes with fall, and winter can either be like sad lyrical music or rap depending on what you like. Spring is like the more upbeat slow songs reaching into pop as the weather gets warmer.
Avonews: What is your favorite month and why?
Izzy Pecosh: I think I’d have to say May. It’s near the end of the school year so all classes are sort of wrapping up and either winding down or fishing up finals. The weather in May is really nice too, not too hot but not too cold with lots of flowers.
Avonews: What’s the most unnecessary holiday?
Izzy Pecosh: Probably Groundhog’s Day. I don’t know what’s up with that, I think it’s kind of pointless.
Avonews: If you could invent one holiday what would it be?
Izzy Pecosh: I think some sort of friendship day would be really nice because friends are such an important part of our lives. You have Valentine’s Day to celebrate romantic love, but there’s not much for friendship right now, and I think that needs to change.
Avonews: If you had to rate 10th grade on a scale of 1-10 relative to other grades how is it? For example, if kindergarten was a 10 and 7th grade was a 1, what is this year?
Izzy Pecosh: I’d give it a solid 8 so far.
Avonews: What are you most looking forward to in 2025?
Izzy Pecosh: Definitely learning how to drive. I can’t wait to have the freedom to drive myself wherever I want.
Avonews: If you could time travel to any year what would it be? The year 3000 like the Jonas Brothers?
Izzy Pecosh: I would love to be like the Jonas Brothers and go to the year 3000. But I would probably either say the 50s just to see how different life was then or the early 2000s with like Britney Spears and everything.
I disagree that Groundhog’s Day is pointless, but I agree that there should be a friend alternative to Valentine’s Day!
I like this interview, and I appreciate Izzy Pecosh’s view on music connecting to seasons.
I agree with her connection of music genres to seasons!!!!!
