For the First time in Avonworth History, an Avonworth wrestler placed first in their weight class in the WPIAL. Weighing in at 121lb, Auston Kosonovich was ranked first in the WPIAL before the WPIAL tournament, and left as the first place WPIAL Champion on his way to State Playoffs. Added to his 100th win, Austin’s junior year campaign is arguably the best single season in Lopes Wrestling history.
Additionally, senior Justin Beck and Bryce Metz qualified in their weight classes for regionals in Altoona.
