Editor in Chief Emma Noss returned to Penn State Main Campus to compete in the PSPA State Journalism Championship on Tuesday, April 1st, two years after she joined another Avonews EIC Zion Shenck at the same event. But in 2025, Emma brought the second largest field of Avonews staff along with her to aim for best in the state against high quality competition from seven other regions across PA.
Seniors Sadie Walsh and Ella Bounos, Junior (and incoming co editor-in-chief for 25-26) Pedro Moriera, and Sophomore Lyra Klinedinst each accompanied Emma after they all won their regional categories during a September competition on Point Park University’s campus.
