In a shocking turn of events, the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, January 24th, the Pittsburgh Steelers hired former Packers and Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy. His pros are experience, 17 years of experience to be exact, and a Super Bowl win under his belt. His main concern is that many Steelers fans compare him to Mike Tomlin. When you take their records, they are very similar. As of now, the Steelers do not have an offensive coordinator. But they do have a defensive coordinator, and his name is Patrick Graham. He was last with the Raiders but spent one season as the Packers coordinator under McCarthy during his time with the Packers. He also spent time with the Dolphins and Giants as the defensive coordinator there, so it’s safe to say he has experience.
As for the rest of the staff, there really isn’t much information about them. All we really know is that most of them worked under McCarthy at some point during his head coaching tenures.
Overall many people have mixed opinions about this signing, but many people have changed how they think about McCarthy after his Tuesday introductory press conference with the media. Talking very highly about the Steelers and the city of Pittsburgh, as the city is his hometown.
