TGL (Tiger Woods Golf League)
This year started off hot in the golf world with the first season of the TGL, an indoor golf simulator league. This was a sort of competitor to the LIV golf league, but with PGA tour players. Tiger Woods and Rory Mcllory were the guys behind this whole opperation who saw a very good first season. With big names like Scottie Scheffler, who weren’t in it last season but seen at the facility taking some swings recently, we could see some roster changes coming in 2026.
Rory Completes the Grand Slam
With Rory’s 2025 Masters win, he became the 6th golfer in history to complete the career grand slam. This was a huge moment in the golf world as it showed that he can win the Masters, as its always been a struggle for him to do. This was also his first major win in general since 2014. He showed how much it meant to him by expressing it on the final green after beating Justin Rose in a playoff hole to win the Masters.
Ryder Cup on Home Soil
This year’s Ryder Cup was huge in terms of amount of hype and pressure on the United States side of it. With it being held on homeland, specifically Bethpage Black. A course where you, the average person, could go this course. The United States however with so much hype around the team, very much dissapointed fans after losing on home soil to a Europe team who took 11 of its 12 players from its 2023 win in Rome Italy.
Scottie Wins 4 in a Row
For the 4th time in a row Scottie Scheffler won the Jack Nicklaus, Golfer of the Year award. This is only the second time a golfer has accomplished this and the last to do it was Tiger Woods back in 1999-2003. He heard about this from The Pat McAfee Show. Where his reaction was just as you would expect from Scottie, acting like hes been the before.
