Steelers fans have many positives to share about the RB position coming into Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions. But what if the room was still split between Harris and Warren instead of Gainwell, Warren, and a little bit of Caleb Johnson?

Most sports reporters and journalists were ready to see Najee go last offseason. But I had a strong sense he should be franchised.
At their best, Najee and Jaylen Warren were like Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb at their best on the Browns, 2019-2022.
But the conversation here in Pittsburgh was almost always about getting Warren more touches, not how to split carries better.

The better choice is what happened, signing free agent RB Kenneth Gainwell on a one-year deal for the veteran minimum, 620,000.

He brings his 75.5 PFF rating in last week’s win over the Dolphins into Sunday’s game. While Gainwell and Warren both might be RB 2 if they were on the division leaders across the rest of the NFL, they contribute to this year’s Steelers giving their fan base actual wins in December.
Harris?
About a month of games, a season ending injury, and likely another platoon or RB2 slot with Omarian Hampton.
