Towards the end of Tuesday, March 3rd, Principal Dwuilt spoke over the loudspeakers about WPIAL playoff success, the upcoming musical, and then a small reassuring message for students about being appreciated. Many students expected more information about a surprise power outage in the morning, and then were equally surprised hearing Dr. Dwuilt’s more emotional tone as she added the last personal statements. As a Veteran, and a military mom, Dr. Dwuilt was one of a number of people in the building juggling daily life here in the school but also the added tensions and concerns about US military involvement in the Middle East.

Over this past weekend, AHS students saw President Donald Trump and the Secretary of War announce Operation Epic Fury, launching missiles into Tehran,Iran, and killing former Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, among other senior leaders in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
