The Avonews is the official student news organization for Avonworth High School. Every effort is made to provide content of interest to the students. The Avonews is an open forum for student expression. All content decisions are made by the student editors. Comments and suggestions from students, faculty, administration, and community members are encouraged at our companion website, avonewsonline.org

The Avonews Online website is the official student-created news website for Avonworth High School students. Every effort is made to report news, features, and opinions of interest to the students. The Avonews Online is an open forum for student expression. All content decisions are made through the Journalism 1 and 2 class members as well as any contributing Avonews members. Guest editorials, reviews, and other content are welcome, though they will be edited and posted by Journalism 1 or 2 course students and/or Avonews members.
Comment policy: Comments and suggestions from students, faculty, administration, and community members are welcome for all our posts as well as content from the Avonews print edition or other media. All comments must be signed with an e-mail address where Avonews Online staff can reach you for follow up questions. All comments are reviewed in moderation by student staff before they are posted. No anonymous comments will be posted.
New Editor in Chief Niomi Ellis, pictured above, on her first day at the Avonews desk in 308, the pub lab. Niomi and Alexis were attending a 4 day Journalism workshop July 12th through 16, offered as part of a special post-COVID program at the high school. The district offered enrichment and credit recovery classes, using funds provided by the state government in 2021 for COVID-related educational needs.
