Read Time:2 Minute, 22 Second
Right now, everything seems to be falling apart.
The internet is down, so I am using it next door at the other living quarters. Our hot water broke, so we have to shower here too. An alarm keeps going off every second because of the water situation. I also lost my phone on a run, so I can’t contact people very readily.
All of these things keep adding up, but instead of complaining about it, I would like to share some beautiful pictures from the past two weeks.

- I would like to mention we are dressed like this to go to the grocery store, not a seven-day hiking trip.
This is a weird picture at first glance. But, if you see the fuzz, that is from static. It is so staticy here because the air is dry. Everything I touch seems to shock me. It was a difference I did not expect. There are dogs everywhere. Some are stray, but most of them have owners who just let them free in the daytime. My roommates, Helena and Graham. This is the garden outside where I work. This wheel was the door to someone’s fence. It was very cool. Beautiful day for photography. Can you spot the birdies? These murals were on the side of a building in town. Some locals talking around the drug store with another interesting mural. Graffiti on the side of a shed. The Braves are the school mascot here. Here it is! Downtown Eagle Butte, which consists of a post office, drug store, hardware store, and two bars. I don’t think this guy liked that I disturbed him eating. Just some cows. Hanging out. Eating hay. The cow life.
Amelia,
I truly enjoyed the pictures and the accompanying captions. I think that you have a future in photojournalism. I can hardly wait to talk to you in person. Hang in there.
Luv Ya,
Grandma
Very interesting pictures Amelia! This is certainly an experience you will never forget, I can’t wait to talk to you about it when you get home. Aidan and Alec said hello and we all send hugs your way!! We miss you! Stay safe, Aunt Jodie

Wow! I am so in awe! Very proud of you Amelia. I love your positive optimism – way to make the most out of your experiences!!! Thanks for sharing. Supposed to get “arctic” cold here again next few days.
