One of the major food trends of 2014 was cronuts, now imagine a cronut burger. If you can’t believe that you just read about something called a cronut burger you are not dreaming. This idea was a complete mistake and in my opinion it was one of the worst food trends of 2014.
A cronut burger first has a croissant, and donut combined bun with maple bacon jam and cinnamon on the top. On the center there is a burger, cheese, and whatever other toppings you would eat on a burger.
This idea just sounds disgusting it makes me wonder how they even came up with the idea. This product has caused food poisoning for the many people who were brave enough to try it. I am actually afraid to try the cronut burger. We really should hope that this 2014 food trend dies out, for our safety. According to the wire, at the Canadian National Exhibition, twelve people who ate fair food got sick, and five were taken to the hospital. According to thestar.com, more than two-hundred visitors got food poisoning. Supposedly, the cronut was topped with maple bacon jam, this was the source of the problem. The jam was contaminated with Staphylococcus aureus toxin, a kind of bacteria.
“Well all I can say is they shoulda spent less time ripping off someone’s idea and more time not poisoning people,” tweeted Dominique Ansel, creator of the cronut.
So far there are no cronut burgers in the United States, I believe that this is a good thing. This mass food poisoning was a sign not to trust rip offs of the original ideas. That is why we should keep cronut burgers away from Pittsburgh. I do not think that anyone is in the mood to get food poisoning, and you should not trust these cronut burger creators.
The cronut burger was close to being one of the worst food trends of 2014. Its hard to believe that there were some worse food trends.
