The American Big Three Bailout refers to the government subsidised loans provided to Ford, GM, and Chrysler in 2008. The bailout was successful in saving over three million American jobs and insuring the pensions for nearly one million others. These three companies were in a financial downfall during this time and were at risk of shutting down. Between these three companies over 156 Billion dollars in parts were purchased. These companies are crucial to sustaining the American economy and the bailout was a necessary event. Many people would claim that the 26 Billion dollars that was invested into these companies by the government was unjustified but after repaying their loans these companies are now prosperous and modern.
They are now able to compete with the European auto manufacturers. Please follow the link below to the survey and help determine whether or not the government should bail out American companies in the future or if they should let American business fail.
