Students observe Pittsburgh’s bridges out the bus windows as they enter the city for the Rivers of Steel field trip on Thursday, November 16th.
The S&D Polish Deli was the first stop, where samples of kielbasa, pierogies, and “head cheese” were offered.
Junior Emily Tyler (and Senior Richard Danylo) enjoy the Strip District’s oddities.
Lunch was at “Peppers N’at,” an Italian restaurant with a Bocce court.
Bocce, a traditionally Italian game, was played quite enthusiastically after lunch.
The field trip, comprised of junior and seniors and accompanied by an informative tour guide, explored Pittsburgh’s history and immigrants; they stopped at Saint Stanislaus, the S&D Polish Deli, and Peppers N’at.
