As students returned from the President’s Day long-weekend, they found the formerly purple, black, and grey Divas/Andy Warhol decor had been replaced with a bold splash of bright colors. Many in the group, such as juniors Erin Zdrojowy and Andrew Ott, started on Friday evening and continued painting through the in-service day on Monday to complete the initial part of this year’s project.
Some of the Galleries Project painters, including junior Madison Dean pictured below, spent the full weekend working with Mrs. Swaney putting a neutral base-coat over the old design before repainting and adding new duct-tape, continued to update the hallway throughout the day.
The eventual goal is to replace the prior Diva portraits, like the Kesha one pictured below, with new figures.
