Somewhere between the Lady Lopes Soccer State Championship Run, Children’s Grief Awareness Day, and the start of practices for winter sports, the Powderpuff football game found a way to return Monday evening, November 22nd, after COVID disrupted the tradition in 2020.

In the return game, the Sophomore and Senior team won 30-24 – they are pictured below.

A traditional fundraiser for the Sophomore class, the Powderpuff tshirts also returned in 2021.

Above is the freshman/junior team, who scored 24 points in the game.

Above are some of the Avonworth highschool football players that were coaches, including Erik Studebaker, Kevin Felter, Ian Syam, Nico Neal, and Elvin Le.

Mrs.Reilsono, Sophomore Class sponsor, said that, “Powderpuff this year was a lot of fun and we were happy that the soccer and basketball teams were both able to participate!  The game was evenly matched until the end and was tied with a few minutes left…The coaches did a great job making sure all the girls had playing time and they seemed just as excited to be there as the girls were.

The Class of 2024 made a decent amount of money on the t-shirts and the concession stand and they appreciated everyone’s support!”
