Ski Club has returned for the 2nd year in a row. The first trip was to Peak N’ Peak on Saturday, January 14th, with around 70 teachers and students attending, a noticeable growth compared to last year.
Peak N’ Peak was full of fun and engaging activities, starting with skiing or snow boarding and also snow tubing.
“It was almost like Boyce Park (Snow Tubing)… little hills along the way to get to the main hill. I did this for (about) 45 minutes and the lines weren’t long at all” said sophomore Luke Chassis, who went on the tubes along with a number of other Ski Club members.
Many students and teachers not only enjoyed activities on the mountain, but also back on the ground at the lodge, including the pool. Sophomore James Cook said, “The mountains were finger licking good.” Students also appreciated getting to see the skiing skills of teachers and chaperones.
From skiing to spending time at the lodge and on the bus ride with friends, the first trip was very fun. Outside of a unexpected and brief altercation between a student from another school instigating an AHS ski club member, the trip was incident free and filled with memories.
Ski Club brings their hoodies to Holiday Valley on Saturday, January 28th for another full day of winter fun – this time after a snowy week across Western PA adds natural snow during this otherwise snow-free winter of 2022-2023.
the ski trip was enjoyable and I had a good time. the ski resort was a good time and very interesting can’t wait for next year.

I loved this article, the ski club is great! It is important for underappreciated sports to gain recognition. Skiing is very fun and it is tremendous that the club is growing!
