The first week of March Madness has gone by, and it was a crazy weekend. For pretty much every student who made a bracket, they entered school on Monday needing a second-chance start.
Junior Atticus Kardell had a UCLA vs Baylor championship game, and is better then most because #2 UCLA remains in the competition. Baylor, like so many other teams on students brackets, lost to a 6-seed Creighton in the round of 32. “March Madness sucks very very bad” is what he, like most others in the school, had to say. We’ve seen a lot of upsets within this year’s March Madness, so much that no perfect brackets remain on ESPN
FDU, a 16-seed pictured above, beat Purdue, a 1-seed. That only happened once before in March Madness history, and it is to be remembered. This was such a big upset that FDU’s coach, Tobin Anderson, left the team for Iona, a larger D1 program.

Other upsets breaking brackets included 11- seed PITT being #6 Iowa State, #15 Princeton over 2 seed Arizona, #10 Penn State defeating # 7 Texas A&M, and #13 Furman upending 4 seed Virginia.
In the field of 32, 7 seed Michigan St. ended #2 Marquette’s run, and 8 seed Arkansas knocked out another #1 seed, Kansas.
For the sweet 16 coming up this weekend, 15-seed Princeton continues its run against another lower seed team, #6 Creighton. In the best Avonews bracket pictured below, the red shows all the wrong picks, like most brackets in the country.
