Celebrating another successful round of 100%’s on Core News Values, students in Journalism 1 held their Core News Values Party on Thursday, September 28th. This edition featured a variety of drinks and even an international dessert. See below for comments and reviews from some of the Avonews Online staff in the class.
What the Fanta Brandon: Tastes like grapes, and I don’t like grapes. Lucy: Lucky Charms marshmallows, I liked them because they are basically just a fun version of regular marshmallows.
“What the Fanta” proved to be a polarizing drink among our tasters. Brandon detected a grape-like flavor, which didn’t quite align with his personal preferences. On the other hand, Lucy found the marshmallow-like aspect of the beverage enjoyable, likening it to the playful marshmallows in Lucky Charms cereal. A sweet surprise indeed!
Coca Cola Y3000 Avery: It tastes like a mix of the old limited Coca Cola flavors. Brandon: It tastes like a mix of the old limited Coca Cola flavors.
Avery and Brandon both agreed that Coca Cola Y3000 is a blend of Coca Cola’s old limited flavors. While we didn’t receive feedback from the rest of the team, it’s clear that this soda offers a nostalgic twist on the classic Coca Cola taste, making it a potentially intriguing choice for fans of the brand.
Ric Flair WOOOOOOO Energy Drink Avery: I can’t describe it, it has too many conflicting flavors, but it is sweet. Pedro: The taste is kinda chaotic, but it reminds me of artificially flavored peach juice.
Ric Flair WOOOOOOO Energy Drink left Avery baffled with its multitude of conflicting flavors. Meanwhile, Pedro found a semblance of order in its chaos, drawing a comparison to artificially flavored peach juice. It seems this energy drink is a rollercoaster of flavors worth trying, but be prepared for a wild ride.
Zombie Taki’s Brandon: It’s green, spicy, and tastes like cilantro. Ella: Spicy.
Zombie Taki’s brought a burst of color and spice to our tasting session. Brandon vividly described its green hue, spiciness, and cilantro-like taste. Ella concurred with the spicy aspect. If you’re a fan of bold flavors and a spicy kick, these snacks might be your new favorites.
Kit Kat Cereal Ella: Chocolatey. Avery: Chocolatey.
While we didn’t receive detailed comments from the group, Ella and Avery both concurred that Kit Kat Cereal is undeniably “chocolatey.” Sometimes, simplicity can be a delightful surprise, especially for chocolate lovers.
Brigadeiro Abigail: Custardy, creamy, chocolatey, GOOD. Eli: Custardy, creamy, chocolatey, GOOD.
Brigadeiro, a Brazilian treat, was met with unanimous praise. Abigail and Eli both described it as custardy, creamy, chocolatey, and, most importantly, “GOOD.” Brigadeiro proved that sometimes, the classics are classics for a reason.
