Spotted Lanternflies have recently taken over the state of Pennsylvania and are seen everywhere, including around campus and sometimes inside the high school. These species have no natural predator, making them a constant problem to humans and our environment.
In an interview with sophomore Samuel Kline, he admitted the bugs are very annoying, stating, “I can’t go anywhere without one flying on me. However I’ve become pretty good at stomping as many as I can.”
One place they are especially present is at Lezner Field, up the metal posts of the lights. Hundreds can be seen climbing up so they can jump over the fence to get to the trees on the other side.
