On Wednesday, February 28th, Avonworth Bocce joined in on the playoff winning streak shared by almost every sport in the 2020’s. Luke Chrissis had the final roll.
Here are what some of the coaches and players had to say leading up to the division playoff.
Jack Salisbury-“I think it’s awesome and I’m excited about it, but I just wish our team could have made it to the playoffs as well.”
Sam Hustwit-“Our team did great this year and I am excited for the playoffs.”
Coach Wick reached out to staff with the following announcement as well: – “Our 2023-2024 Avonworth Unified Bocce Team has made the division playoffs (our version of the WPIALS.) On 2/28 we will be hosting the playoffs in the HS gym – the match starts at 4 and we would love for as many of you to attend as possible! If you see the following students, HS and MS faculty, please congratulate them on making the playoffs! Luke Chrissis, Sam Hustwit, Caroline Sweeney, Abigail Zwick, Conner Bryan, and Cadence Kuretich.
Our other team narrowly missed a playoff spot but still had an amazing season. If you see these guys please congratulate them on working hard! Lulu Sweeney, Lucy Studebaker, Ellie Boggess, and Gabe Bernal. Thank you, everyone, for your continued support of our Special Olympics program!”
