On the 30th anniversary of the Shakespeare Monologue & Scene Contest, 5 Avonworth students have been recognized for outstanding performances.
For the Middle School monologue competition, ranging from 4th to 7th grade, Kate Jeon has qualified as a finalist and won within the Lower Division category. The Avonworth student represented Helena, a character from Shakespeare’s play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.
Additionally, other four Avonworth students have made the Honorable Mentions list, across grades 8 and 12. In the Upper Monologues group, Lyra Klinedinst, portraying Hamlet from “Hamlet”, and Lyla Sebeck, as Adriana from “A Comedy of Errors”, were enlisted. Additionally, Sadie Walsh (Olivia) and Emma Noss (Viola) were included within Upper Scenes for a “Twelfth Night” performance.
