With April’s cinematic journey flying by and gradually coming to an end, the spotlight shifts towards May and what it will have to offer. I did not think there was anything special about any of the April 2024 movies so far, which is why I am especially excited about this next month. As we look at May, one of the better-looking movies is The Fall Guy, directed by David Leitch, and starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. Being the director of some of my favorite movies like Bullet Train and Deadpool 2, I am very eager to see how his new film will hold up with his others. With Ryan Gosling being one of the most popular actors in 2024, it is very likely that just seeing his name will attract audiences to go and see it. His popularity in his most recent role as Ken in Barbie, which came out in the summer of 2023, has continued to grow over time. The film has already received early screening ratings and has earned 89% on the Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes. Compared to his other films, the score is fairly close to others like Deadpool 2 which has an 84%.
As described by IMDb, the story follows Ryan Gosling, “a down-and-out stuntman” who goes on a mission to find the missing lead star of his “ex-girlfriend’s blockbuster film” (Emily Blunt). I think the plot sounds fun and I am sure that the popular selection of actors and actresses will not disappoint and help to bring their characters to life. The Fall Guy comes to theaters on May 3, 2024, kicking off May to a hopefully successful and positive cinematic start.
