Camp Guyasuta is a non-profit organization in O’Hara Township.
“Camp Guyastuta is legitly my favorite day of the year every year,” said English teacher Mr.Wells
Camp Guyasuta offers kids and adults active lessons to learn the value of teamwork as they go through different activities that require teamwork to succeed.
Students were challenged to balance out a large platform by working together to evenly distribute themselves. Some AHS students enjoy the experience, while others find it frustrating.
“There was some group work that was kinda annoying. We were just learning about working together” said 10th grader Sophia Smolinski (past experience)
Throughout the Camp Guyastuta program, students faced an obstacle that left many challenged. This was called the web challenge. Throughout each opening, students were only allowed three people to go through each opening before it was closed without touching the opening. when doing so they had to collaborate to succeed during this challenge.
Another collaborative activity was The Wall. It was a challenge that needed everyone to support and help one person up the wall. This obstacle could not be completed alone and was dangerous if not everyone was supporting the person going over the wall.
“I had a lot of fun! I went zip lining. That’s Basically all I did. It was fun.” said 10th grader Sophia.
