“I think every Dodger fan who woke up this morning was pretty excited…” said Kalli Lowe, junior, on Halloween morning. Her favorite MLB team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, won the 2024 World Series, 3-1, against the New York Yankees.
“I think it’s awesome that the Dodgers won the 2024 world series,” said Lowe. “After getting robbed the world series win a few times from other teams, they deserved it. The team played well this year and Freddie Freeman got MVP. They definitely played to win this series, they didn’t waste anything. The Dodgers have claimed their 2nd world series title in the last 5 years.”
For Braves fan senior Garrett Dziubek, it’s a bit bittersweet to see Freeman’s success. He added his reflection later in the day through Google Classroom.”…Despite the team payroll being $241 million, Freddie Freeman carried the team in the series throughout the 5 games, slashing .300 with 4 home runs and 12 RBIs, earning him world series MVP. He also broke a record, hitting a home run in 6 straight World Series games, dating back to 2021 when Freeman was still with the Atlanta Braves. He ended that series with back to back home runs in games 5 and 6 before winning the title with Atlanta. 3 years later, he would open the 2024 World Series with a home run in games 1, 2, 3, and 4.”
