A very tight and tense match shifted leads back and forth between Quaker Valley and Avonworth in their quarterfinal playoff matchup on Monday, March 3. A surprisingly dominant four goal lead set the pace, and the score only budged to 4-1 at the end of the first period.
However, Quaker Valley quickly got motivated again and scored 4 goals to come back at 5-6 . Quaker Valley decided to pull out their goalie with two minutes left.
The clock reached all 0’s at the end of the 3rd period, to the relief of Lopes fans and shock and frustration for the Quakers supporters. Final score Avonworth 6, QV 5.
