In 2023, Jisoo decided to step out from K-pop girl group Blackpink and start a career solo to focus on a new goal, her first single album Me was released in March 2023 and became the best-selling album by a female soloist in South Korea and the first to sell over a million copies.
Her follow up, “Amortage” – was released on February 14th.
“Amortage” is composed of 4 songs:
“Earthquake”

Jisoo’s press release for the album provides some context:
The title AMORTAGE (a blend of amor, love, and montage) sets the emotional tone of the album: a journey through love’s highs and lows. The overall soundscape mix electropop, synth-pop, and soft rock , with a nostalgic Y2K vibe. It’s personal and shows Jisoo’s evolution as a solo singer confident, expressive, and emotional.
At AHS, Kpop fans agree, including freshman Norah Shenck and Melody Zheng.
” I liked the album personally… It’s different from what she did with Black Pink and its interesting how she is expressing herself separately from the group and she is kind of making a name for herself” – Melody
” I think that its really cool that a bunch of artist are starting to branch of and do their own things, I like the groups too, it’s cool to see them all adding their own individual touch to everything, the songs are more them instead of like all group” – Norah
