The Avonworth Softball team took to the 2025 PIAA Softball Championship against the Bald Eagle Area Eagles, resulting in an 8-2 defeat. The final game was on Monday, 6/2, and marked the Eagles’ first state title since 2019. The Eagles will be playing St. Mary’s on Thursday, 6/5 to continue moving up in the championship.
As for WPIALs, the Lopes made their way to the semifinals by triumphing over Keystone Oaks in the quarterfinal game by six points.
This was followed by an unfortunate 6-9 defeat against South Park on Wednesday, 5/21, for the semifinals.
The Avonworth Softball Team has had an impressive 2024-25 season, and Avonworth is waiting to see how next year’s season will go.
