The Hook is a new edition to the Avonworth High School, and it is pulling mixed views across the school community. Most people had very positive feelings about the show; however, some people had some other opinions.
Avonworth High School principal Dr. Dwulit gave her positive thoughts on the videos, stating that they “brought back something that was missing.” However, she also mentioned that the “boxing scene” made her “nervous.”
According to Ms. Imbrogno, a high school teacher, the “kids love it and look forward to it.”
Autumn Waters, a junior, expressed an interesting perspective by adding that the Hook is an “entertaining and different way to do news.”
Timmy Wrona, a sophomore and member of the Hook cast, said that his “lunch is taken up most days and lead is taken up every day” to work on the show, but it is still very “positive and entertaining.”
More students reiterated their positive feelings for the show when Madi Stiers, a junior, said “I love it, it’s great, it’s fantastic” and Imogen Boggess, a sophomore, called it “comedic relief” and “funny.”
Dr. George, another high school teacher, said that the Hook “doesn’t impact me personally” but she also mentioned that it “adds to the culture of the school.”
Mrs. Bacon added that the show is a “fun way to end Tuesday mod D Physics class, and it is fun to see the different students involved.”
Overall, the Hook seems to be a comedic and relatable avenue of news delivery to students. This new form of media seems to be easier to keep students engaged in weekly events occurring in the school.
