I am a Pittsburgh local! I grew up in South Park — just south of the city!
2) Favorite subject in high school?
Chemistry 🙂
3) Favorite part of life at Penn State (also, favorite Creamery flavor?)
Football games — the Whiteout game is as fun and epic as it looks! The people — as big as Penn State is, it was easy to make it feel smaller once I found my people!
4) Do you have favorite hobbies and how often do you get to do them?
I love to go fishing! I also like to run. I just ran my third half marathon a few weeks ago. Hoping to do a full sometime in the next few years! I try to keep up with running throughout the year but usually only get to fish during the summertime.

Ice cream — never one to turn down a sweet treat
6) Furthest destination you’ve travelled to?
I think it’s Phoenix, AZ. I have not been out of the country!
7) Something about you that might get you ‘booed’ by a crowd of yinzers?
I don’t like the Steelers!Â

No!!
9) You get to create Brdarfest, a one afternoon music festival with an unlimited budget. Who do you invite to play and where do you hold the festival?
I would hold the festival in the Stockyards in Ft. Worth, Texas. It would be a totally epic country music festival with George Strait headlining. I don’t think there’d be enough time in the day for everyone I’d want to invite but to name a few, I would also have Cody Johnson,
Ella Langley, Morgan Wallen and Parker McCollum.
Toasted — I like the classics – Strawberry and Brown Sugar Cinnamon

Ms. Brdar started her career at Avonworth a few weeks into the 2026-2027 school year, hired as a replacement for Ms. Hartmann, who left after two years for a teaching position in her home state of New York.

Mr. Wolfe and Mrs. Bacon, pictured above next to Brdar, extended their own regular teaching schedules to push in and temporary lead the four Chemistry courses.
