New Beginnings: Welcome Coughlin’s Law to Our Community
For a while, many community members have been complaining about the lack of restaurants right in our district. Although Goodfellas is a great option for dinner and is very close, being one of the only restaurants in the district, the novelty can wear off after a while. The same can be said for Rochester Inn and Sunny Jim’s. By the end of March, a glimmer of solution emerged as Coughlin’s Law: Kitchen and Ale House unveiled its newest location in Mt. Nebo.
The restaurant has two locations in the Pittsburgh area, with the other established in 2018 in Mt. Washington, quickly gaining support and popularity among its patrons. It features something new that no other restaurant in our location has: an in-house brewery where they brew their own beer. This by far makes Coughlin’s Law a very different restaurant from its competitors and creates an immersive experience where customers can witness the brewing process first-hand.
The menu at the newest location on Mt. Nebo offers a diverse selection of mostly American-style dishes, along with unique items that aren’t found on traditional restaurant menus including the Mediterranean Lobster Sliders, Gyro Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoon Nachos, and smoked Brisket. Additionally, this new location contains a wood-fired pizza oven, showcasing a delicious array of pizzas such as the Buffalo Rancher, Pierogi Pie, Margarita, and more!
Next time you are looking for a quick bite that is conveniently close and delicious, consider taking a trip just a few minutes up the road to Coughlin’s Law: Kitchen and Ale House!
Sisters on the Softball Field
This season, playing softball has been more than just a game for me- it has been a journey of strength, teamwork, and even sisterhood. Having the opportunity to share the field with my sister has made every practice, every game, and every victory even more special.
I have always had a great passion for the game of softball, but this year, that passion became even more meaningful I was able to play on the same team as my sister who is a freshman at Avonworth. For years, she was always in the stands being one of my number one supporters, and this year I get to also be hers.
As the older sister, I have embraced the opportunity to mentor my younger sister during her first few years of high school softball, helping her build confidence, and navigate the challenges of being a freshman in high school sports. I hope that one day, she’ll draw from these experiences and step into a leadership role herself, inspiring and mentoring younger players just as I’ve done for her.
Playing with my sister has been a highlight of my High School years, and I cherish every moment we’ve spent on the field together. As we continue the season, I look forward to making many more memories with her, aware that these moments will pass by in a flash.
Summer Fun with Pickleball: The Hottest Game of 2024
Forget the same old summer sports – this year, something new is heating up the scene: pickleball. The fast paced-game has been engaging teens everywhere with the unique blend of tennis, badminton, and ping pong.
Pickleball is easy to learn but challenging to master, which makes it perfect for players of all skill levels. Whether you are an athlete or just looking for a way to stay active this summer, pickleball offers something for everyone. With its small court size and light-weight paddles, it is an ideal game for a quick match at Blueberry Park.
In addition to efficiency, Pickleball has been extremely popular among teens for the social aspect. Unlike other traditional sports that require lots of players and equipment, pickleball can be played with a few friends and very minimal gear. This makes it a great way to connect with friends this summer while enjoying competition under the sun.
However, pickleball isn’t all about fun and games- it is also a great way to stay active. It offers a dynamic, full-body workout through quick rallies and constant movement. The social aspect of the game makes exercising feel fun, providing a great alternative to traditional gym workouts.
Pickleball is a fantastic way to stay active while having a blast with friends this summer. So grab a paddle, hit the courts, and see just why Pickleball is the game of 2024.
Staying Active and Sharp: Healthy Tips for Summer
As summer quickly approaches, it’s easy to get caught up in doing nothing and end up feeling bored as the days go by. This summer might be one of the longest in many of our high school careers due to the ongoing construction on the school campus. To make the most of this extended break, it is important to focus on staying active both physically and mentally.
Physical activity is crucial for maintaining health in the summer, and it not only benefits your body but also helps cure boredom. Take advantage of the warm weather outside by engaging in sports and activities outdoors such as swimming, biking, and hiking. These not only improve physical health but also boost your mood and overall well-being.
In addition to physical activity, it is important to keep your mind sharp during the extended break. Reading books, taking on new hobbies, and even a daily dose of The New York Times’ Connections and Wordle can all stimulate your brain. These activities can provide a sense of accomplishment and keep the brain engaged even when you are not in school.
Finally, do not forget the importance of social interactions that are vital for mental health. Take time out of your day to spend time with family and friends whether it is through outdoor activities or just a simple hangout. Maintaining social connections can help reduce stress while also creating cherished memories that last a lifetime.
Are Stanley Tumblers Worth It?
The hype surrounding a new water bottle has reached most people, either because they own one themselves or know someone who does. Stanley’s have dominated the Tumbler industry over the past year and it’s hard to walk very far without seeing one sitting on a desk or being carried through the hallway. This $45 bottle has a lot to offer- and many argue whether it truly lives up to the hype or is simply another overpriced regular water bottle.
Stanley water bottles have quickly gained popular due to their large size, which positively influences drinking habits. The large capacity means fewer refills, encouraging people to drink more water each day. In addition to the capacity, a huge feature in Stanley’s are the built in straws that make it simple to take quick sips throughout the day . Research shows that people tend to drink more water when they can sip it through a straw, as it is more convenient and enjoyable.
However, do these features compensate for all the spills, especially considering that they are also found in many other water bottles available at an even cheaper price?
Everyone who owns a Stanley knows the fate of dropping one, and it is absurd to think Stanley hasn’t came out with a solution to this widespread issue. This is especially inconvenient for those who carry their bottle in bags or use them when traveling. In addition, the high price of Stanley’s can be a deterrent. There are other brands on the market including the Simple Modern, Yeti, and Hydroflask that offer similar features at more affordable prices.
While Stanley’s have benefits like promoting good drinking habits and convenient sipping, they also come with many inconveniences including the tendency to spill and the high cost. Opting for one of the alternatives may offer better value than investing in Stanley water bottles, providing consumers with similar functions and preventatives to these issues, while saving them money in the process.
These articles were very interesting! I especially loved the article about sisters playing on the same team and supporting one another. Very nicely done!
Nicely written and informative articles! Loved the one about sisters playing together, it had a nice emotional touch.
