After Keystone tests, Senior Showcase, and makeup AP Tests, Principal Dwulit encouraged gratitude with an announcement over the loudspeaker around 10:30 AM on Friday, May 22nd.
Good morning Avonworth, it’s Dr. Dwulit.
This morning, I wanted to take a brief moment (since Keystone Tests are finally over) and recognize the significance of this weekend ahead.
I hope you can find time to rest, relax, and have some fun. I also hope you can reflect on the
sacrifices that led to many of the freedoms, securities, and hopes we have and share today.
Memorial Day is a time to honor those who have paid the ultimate price for others and for our nation.
We can become sheltered here and focused on ourselves and our current frustration so easily…but I hope that this weekend brings a reminder to remember the bigger picture and the broader view of perspective. Many soldiers serving now or veterans of prior service are remembering lost friends, leaders, and comrades…those wounds don’t heal easily…I offer my thank you and my honor.
If you need a focus, choose gratitude. Thank someone today or this weekend for making your life better.
Thank you all for your time this morning. Grateful for each of you.
Dr. Dwulit referenced military service, which pulls from her own experiences abroad in the armed forces.
