Put on your favorite jersey, kick back in a chair to watch the game, and watch the big game with an ice-cold bottle of Bug barf soda. While the name sounds disgusting the sodas real flavor is a burst of sweet pineapple with a hint of kiwi. The vibrant eye-catching lime green makes the drink almost look like you are about to drink something that may be toxic.
When you open the bottle you are overwhelmed with the sweetness and fake fruit smell. Then, the pineapple seems to become a more fruit-like scent and not candy. The soda is very lightly carbonated that almost seems like a soda that has been left out and has started to flatten. This gave the soda an easy pouring experience since you did not have to worry about it spilling over.
Unlike the scent, the taste was like drinking candy which might sound nice, but the overwhelming sweetness of the drink made it hard to discern an actual taste. When the soda first hits your lips you are hit with a slightly acidic pineapple taste which overpowers the kiwi entirely. Though it was horridly sweet it was a very light soda that was easy to drink.
Having drunk this soda I can say that while I did not completely enjoy the soda I would recommend that other people try it. Don’t judge a book by its cover, in this case, don’t judge a soda by its packaging. Bug Barf soda sounds horrible the pineapple and the kiwi brought a fruity flavor that made for an interesting beverage. If I had to rate the soda on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give the soda a 6 out of 10 the soda was overly sweet the rush of pineapple and a little hint of Kiwi made the soda impossible to stop drinking.
