Not many are aware, but our school is home to an Esports club. In the past, this club covered multiple games, but they only cover Rocket League right now. Rocket League is a game in which you play soccer with cars, typically as a 3v3. With the ability to boost, there are many strategies this game requires.
The season has started for the rocket league team, and they are 3-0 so far. The team captain Jackson Shields(Senior), said that he hopes to have fun this season, and that he believes he is making it to the playoffs. Overall, the league has many teams, and last season they tied for third.
For the league, these matches consist of 5 games, with the team that reaches 3 wins first winning. The team plays one match per week, usually Monday at 3:30. They have a twitch channel at avonworthesports – Twitch, which they sometimes use to stream their matches.
